How it works

A link, a deadline, one board.

Everything on RealBid is the same small machine. You describe the thing and set a closing time. You get a link that anyone can open and bid on with a name and an email, no account. Every bid lands on one board, ranked. When the clock runs out the board decides, and everyone who took part is told the result. The link that runs it all is emailed to you, so you don't need an account either.

What it's for

• Selling something →

  Your link goes in the reply to “is this still available?”. Buyers see the top offer; you pick; everyone else is told.

• A silent auction →

  Guests scan a card and bid from their phone. Bids are live at once, outbid emails go out, winners are emailed at close.

• Dividing an estate →

  Each person privately values every item. Each item goes to whoever values it most and the money evens out.

What never changes

• Nobody needs an account. Bidders use a name and an email. Organizers get the link that runs the thing by email.
• Emails are verified or they don't count. A guest offer is confirmed by email before the seller sees it; an auction bid comes with a receipt and a way back in.
• Everyone hears back. Chosen or not, won or not, you're told. That is the whole reason people are willing to bid.
• Your details stay yours. Bidders' emails are shown only to the organizer. In an estate, nobody's numbers are shown to anyone.
• It's free. No fee on the sale, no cut of the auction, no per-estate charge.
