Privacy Policy — RealBid

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash). Landlords may optionally provide property details including photos and addresses. Tenants may optionally provide employment and income information visible only to landlords whose listings they bid on.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate the RealBid platform: matching tenants with landlords, processing deposit payments via Stripe, sending transactional emails (bid updates, verification, password resets), and displaying listings. We do not sell your data to third parties.

3. Payment Processing

All payments are processed by Stripe. RealBid does not store full card numbers or payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of payment data.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us. Bid and transaction records may be retained for legal and accounting purposes.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures including bcrypt password hashing, encrypted database connections (TLS), and HTTPS. No system is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password.

6. Cookies

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.
